What was your most memorable moment from today's workshop? What did you enjoy most? What didn't you like as much? Did you learn something interesting about one of the animals?
Comment on the post to let me know.
Welldone to everyone for high-fiving spiders, holding snakes and stroking lizards. You are all wonderfully brave!
My most memorable part of the rainforest road show was when I held a rat on my shoulder and it kept on tickling me with its silky whiskers!
ReplyDeleteOverall I thought the rainforest road show was great! The people that look after the zoo gave lots of extraordinary information, which even I didn’t know!
One fact that I learnt was that humans can live for only 1 year if there is no creatures or insects because they do most of the jobs for us, for example cockroaches, people think they are nasty but cockroaches actually come to hotels, houses and flats etc to clean up all the dirt from the house.
I didn’t like the part where I had the convexed toad in my hand because once I left the croaking toad, my hand was really slimy.
Although I did not touch any of the animals, I had a most remarkable time with the rest of Downing Street at the Tropical Animal workshop.
ReplyDeleteMy most memorable moment was watching the Royal Python, as it is a very attractive snake with distinct patterns and its earthy colours like brown, gold and beige. And just to think that that this creature can grab its prey with its mouth, wrap itself around it, constrict it and swallow it whole - it’s phenomenal!
I really enjoyed the whole workshop and I was fascinated by all of these marvellous animals. For one moment, I thought how it would feel to be standing amidst all these animals in their natural habitat!
I did not enjoy watching the deadly scorpion (which is the oldest arachnid) since I was scared, thinking of the pain that the poised stinging tail and/or the pincers were capable of inflicting.
I learnt a lot of interesting facts about the animals that I had never known before. For example, the ‘beard’ of a bearded dragon is actually a set of spiky scales beneath its head, which swells up and changes colour when it is threatened.
I had seen these animals on TV before, but watching them in real life was a unique and mind-boggling experience.
Miss Jollife when I first found out there will be spiders I felt very scared and very exited
ReplyDeletebecause I was always scared of them but when I saw all my friends do it I thought
they would say something I don`t like so I had to be brave just like you.

I enjoyed holding and touching all of the animals. My favourite animal was the spider and the rabbit but best of all was the having the snake around my neck.
ReplyDeleteWell I enjoyed all of the animals there were carnivores, herbivores but I cant remember if there were any omnivores I really enjoyed the tortoise I wanted to tame him myself! I was afraid of the toad because of the glands of poison in its maybe toothless jaws also because he likes ti jump! (Hop) I learned that tortoises can survive on land also constricta for bengi the python or whatever his name was men't it strangles its prey to death I don't really like it because its a bit to harsh I held a baby snake once! Sadly it infected me thats how I got my 2 abscess we've all been to the urban farm thats were the people came from I held Rosie the tarantula I asked does he do high fives? She didn't it was strange at the urban farm she did high fives so why dosnt she do them now?
ReplyDeleteAt the first time when we were going, I felt scared but I tried taking my scareness away. When I held them, I felt awsome and I wasn't scared anymore but I liked holding the animals and I still have the feeling of holding them.
ReplyDeleteI thought bengi the royal adittion to the python family was quite funny and sillt because he was trying to get off his branch when I found out the tarantula's name was Rosie I said to myself I remember her! From the urban farm !. I really enjoyed the forest road show.
